Zach Parker: I’ll be the first to stop Demetrius Andrade
Zach Parker is feeling invincible as he begins preparations for the fight against Demetrius Andrade on May 21.
The WBO interim super-middleweight title match will take place at Pride Park, home of Parker’s beloved Derby Football Club. And the undefeated Brit says that when the fight is over, everyone will know who he is.
“Trust me, I will be the first to stop Andrade,” he said in a press release for Queensberry Promotion.
“I was not confident about anything in my life. I’ve been waiting for these big games to show what I am and on May 21 everyone will know who Zach Parker is.”
Andrade, no stranger to battling British opponents, is gaining weight with the goal of beating undisputed super-middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez. The American has made no secret that he wants to take on the Mexican and Parker could be one of the few remaining hurdles to overcome. However, Parker believes Andrade, the undefeated two-division world champion, has had better days. [Eddie Hearn] wasn’t behind him, was he? Not like my advertiser [Frank Warren], that’s what you have to do and go after your fighter. He is 34 years old, about to compete with someone who is heavier. You can see that in my last game against Marcus Morrison, when a middleweight came in, I just put them to sleep.”
