This Maryland Woman Just Claimed Her Third $50,000 Lottery Prize
The 61-year-old player from Montgomery County recently purchased two Lucky $5 scratch-off tickets at Talbert’s Ice & Beverage Service in Bethesda. The first ticket didn’t hit the mark, but the second earned her the game’s top prize of $50,000.
The retired housekeeper said she was shocked when she won for the third time. “I just don’t believe it, again!” she told lottery officials.
After the initial shock subsided, the lucky winner called her best friend to share the news. “When she told me, I was so happy for her,” said the friend who joined her at the Maryland Lottery headquarters. “It’s hard to believe she won $50,000.”
Of course, they know that it’s rare for anyone to win the lottery – let alone three times. “Everybody plays every day and doesn’t win,” said the winner. “It’s amazing that I’ve won three times.”
She told lottery officials she plans to use the money for some much-needed home renovations.
