If cost is not an issue, there are some nice places to stay. The many real-life Easter eggs are sure to get fans of Netflix’s “The Crown” excited.
So before May 6 – the day when King Charles III will seal the throne – here are the best hotels for royal fun time.
the goring
Mission. Service. Heritage. These words are synonymous with royalty – and the last remaining family-owned luxury hotel operators in London. The Goring, just a short distance from Buckingham Palace, was awarded a Royal Order in 2013 and has hosted guests of the palace since it first appeared in 1910.
As discreet as it should be, it remains a venue that actively showcases class from top to bottom. But if you’re hoping to win a room for King Charles’ coronation, you’re on the hook: Royals and important figures around the world have filled these rooms to host the coronation. the glory of George VI and Queen Elizabeth II, and history seems about to repeat itself. Reservations are already sold out for King Charles III’s coronation on May 6. However, if you’re flexible on dates and want to add some prestige to your visit to London, it’s a perfect location for any any royalist.

Savoy

Since opening in 1889, The Savoy has been a beacon for the rich, famous and powerful. This includes Edward VII, who is almost a piece of furniture because he spent so much time in the hotel. The hotel also saw two little princesses Elizabeth and Margaret sneak in for cocktails. And it later became the site of the royal family’s first official outing after World War II.

In 1989, Princess Diana became Savoy’s Centenary prom, and in 2020, after a major renovation, then-Prince Charles visited the West End hotel to reopen. It certainly hasn’t lost its verve. In addition to adjoining the Savoy Theatre, which preceded the hotel, it now houses no less than three Gordon Ramsay restaurants and the world-renowned American Bar – a treat for any cocktail connoisseur, in fact.

Soho Nhà House Hotel
It’s great to talk about centuries-old venues with chandeliers, but perhaps this list needs a modern hotel. London’s Soho House, where Meghan Markle secretly met Prince Harry in the early days of their relationship (the young royal would sneak in by freight elevator to keep their relationship private), is that place. .
It’s technically the members’ home, but it’s hardly exclusive. It’s a super-brand with outposts in the Cotswolds, England; New York City; Los Angeles; and more. This townhouse has 39 bedrooms; they range from 162 square foot “broom closet” rooms to larger — but no less glamorous — rooms. It appeals to creators and A-listers alike, but the fact that it played a role in a recent royal love story gives it the stamp of approval here.

Claridge’s – another London hotel with a registry more beautiful than any planetarium – has been a royal haunt since the 1860s. Queen Victoria was a regular guest and even brought her along. Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III.
During World War II, the kings of Greece, Norway, and Yugoslavia stayed at the hotel for much of the conflict. In 1945, by order of Winston Churchill, Suite 212 in the hotel was briefly declared Yugoslav territory so that the country’s Crown Prince Alexander II could be born on the native land.
Much later, Prince Charles and Princess Diana held a wedding reception at the hotel. Guests staying in the royal suite will find decor inspired by Queen Elizabeth II’s 1953 coronation and celebratory dinners served in the hotel.

Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London
Back in Hyde Park but still facing traffic jams is Knightsbridge, Mandarin Oriental regulars enjoying the proximity of both high-end shopping and the sprawling Royal Park. The hotel manages to balance classic style and modern appeal with ease.
The hotel also attracts many young royals, including Kate Middleton and Prince William, who have been drinking and dining here. If you don’t want to stay in one of the many luxurious rooms, just visit the spa. Or, enjoy a meal at the two-Michelin-starred Heston Blumenthal’s Dinner, which is nothing like it looks.

Dorchester
As anyone who has played Monopoly will attest, life in Park Lane is not cheap. But it’s a wise investment. The fact that Prince Philip hosted his bachelorette night party at The Dorchester should be all you need to know about this hotel.
British royals, including Queen Elizabeth II, have regularly cut their hair at this establishment over the years. The late queen’s 1953 coronation even coincided with a specially designed hotel renovation. The hotel has not lost its art deco, giving guests the feeling that they are entering a time capsule every time they visit. The hotel’s crowning achievement could be the Alain Ducasse’s on-site French restaurant at The Dorchester — one of the UK’s few restaurants with three Michelin stars.

Ritz London
The staff at this iconic venue have been rolling out the royal red carpet for years. The Queen Mother was so frequent at the hotel that she even had a regular piano request – “A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square.” In 2006, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip celebrated the queen’s birthday inside these lavish walls. More recently, members of the Monaco royal family gathered for a wedding breakfast.
From afternoon tea to sumptuous banquets, The Ritz is second to none. In 2002, it became the first and only hotel in the world to receive a Royal Certificate of Banquet and Catering from the Prince of Wales.
