First new one Toyota LandCruiser Prado in 15 years it finally arrives with mild hybrid support, tough new styling and a higher price.
It will mature at the end of 2024.
The outgoing Prado (known as the 150 Series) has remained largely unchanged since 2009, although it has received many small updates throughout its life such as a more powerful turbo-diesel engine in 2020 and a new trim. Additional safety equipment in 2021.
However, it lost petroleum power in Australia in 2018.
However, its time is over and in its place comes the 250 Series Prado – bigger, boxier and packed with new technology that brings it truly into the modern age.
However, all of that comes at a price of up to $12,500 more.

Pricing
Prado pricing for 2025 starts at $72,500 before on-roads – a $9670 increase over the outgoing 150 Series.
The off-road-ready Altitude is a variant that returns for 2025 (having been absent since 2017) and is priced between the VX and Kakadu.

Powertrain and efficiency
On paper, the two Prados appear engine-similar, but there are two important additions for 2025.
The 250 series features a 48V mild-hybrid system, which does not increase power but is instead designed to take the strain off auxiliary functions by adding a 48V battery and engine-generator.
Both cars have all-wheel drive with low-range gear selectability, but while the outgoing Prado had a six-speed automatic, the new generation has an eight-speed automatic. grant.
Toyota says the new Prado has a combined fuel capacity of 110L. The previous generation had an 87L main fuel tank, while models with a backup tank mounted on the rear door also had an additional 63L fuel tank with a total capacity of 150L.

Size
Although the two Prados have similar body lengths, the 250 Series is wider, taller, heavier and has a longer wheelbase.
It will continue to offer both five- and seven-seat configurations.
Toyota claims the new Prado has “408 liters of luggage space even with the second row split 6:4”, according to the company’s global press release, although trunk capacity varies across seating configurations. Other seats have not yet been revealed.

Service and warranty
Like all Toyota models in Australia, the LandCruiser Prado 2025 will have a 5-year, unlimited km warranty.
Owners of the 250 Series can enjoy a seven-year engine and transmission warranty, as long as it is serviced on time at a Toyota dealer.
Toyota will also offer capped-price servicing for the first 10 visits (5 years or 100,000 km) within a period of 6 months or 10,000 km, whichever comes first.
Servicing prices for the 250 Series are yet to be confirmed, however the first six services for the 150 Series are capped at $260 each.
Safety
The upcoming Prado has yet to receive an ANCAP safety rating.
