Ram is looking to go even further with its electric truck when it launches later this year.

The Ram 1500 REV 2025 Electric Truck aims to surpass the Ford F-150 Lightning, Chevrolet Silverado EV, Rivian R1T and Tesla Cybertruck with a range of up to 500 miles. The main ingredient? A large battery pack.

Ram has yet to release full specs. We do know the Ram 1500 REV will run on Stellantis STLA Chassisis the company’s dedicated electric vehicle line, in this case built for body-on-frame vehicles, like full-size pickup trucks. The standard battery installed in the frame will be a 168-kwh pack that Ram says can provide up to 350 miles of range. But a 229-kwh pack will be available, and Ram estimates that it will provide Ram 1500 REV has a range of up to 500 miles.

The Ram 1500 REV will be capable of DC fast charging up to 350 kilowatts, which Ram says will add 110 miles of range in about 10 minutes regardless of battery pack. The truck will be capable of bidirectional charging, but Ram hasn’t outlined how that will work yet. A plug panel in the bed can provide up to 7.2 kilowatts, while a plug in the front trunk can provide up to 3.6 kilowatts.

Ram says the 1500 REV electric truck will be capable of tow up to 14,000 poundsMost electric pickup trucks, and there is a load capacity up to 2,700 pounds.

So far, only a two-motor powertrain offering all-wheel drive has been announced, with outputs up to 654 horsepower and 620 lb-ft of torque. The motors are integrated with the inverter in a module, and the front can be disconnected from the axle for increased efficiency. Ram says regenerative braking will be powerful enough to drive with one pedal. An electronic locking rear differential will be available. Ram says the 1500 REV will be capable of 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds and wade through 24 inches of water.

First aired in February Super Bowl, the Ram electric pickup won’t look dramatically different from its gas-powered brethren. The front grille is blocked for aerodynamic purposes, and the front fascia, LED daytime running lights that project into the center of the front end, and rear taillights that extend into the tailgate. Beyond that, it’ll be the wheels and small trim pieces that visually differentiate the electric and gas-powered trucks. It’ll take a keen eye to tell which truck is which on the road. Ram has covered the entire underbody of the 1500 REV with smooth panels to clean up the aerodynamics. Ram says the 1500 REV has a drag coefficient of 0.34.

The story inside remains the same. The cabin amenities are identical to those of the gas-powered model, save for a few graphics on the electric truck’s charge status, battery, and powertrain displays. The dashboard controls are also carried over from the gas-powered model. That’s not a bad thing, because the Ram 1500 has some of the nicest interiors money can buy in a pickup truck. From the available 14.0-inch touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital gauges to the 10.3-inch front passenger display, the leather-wrapped cabin can be outfitted like a luxury vehicle.

Ram hasn’t said how long the bed will be or what dimensions it will have, but the front trunk has 15 cubic feet of capacity.

The 2025 Ram 1500 REV will debut before its extended-range sibling, Ram 1500 Charger Ram 2025.
