2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 price and specs: EV gets new tech, sporty N Line trim

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 has received a significant update, with a new battery, stiffer chassis, upgraded tech and a fresh look.

The update also increases prices by $2,300 across the range, with the Ioniq 5 now starting at $69,800 before on-road costs.

Prices will increase by $2500 in 2024, coinciding with Hyundai Australia opening the Ioniq 5 to orders through more than 100 of its dealerships.

The 53kWh Standard Range battery has been replaced by a 63kWh battery, while the Ioniq 5 N’s 84kWh battery replaces the 77kWh battery in Extended Range models.

The larger battery allows the Ioniq 5 to go longer on a single charge, for example the base standard range now offers 440km of range on the WLTP cycle, up from 384km.

You can see the battery specs in the Performance section below, including improved range for each configuration.

Hyundai said it has upgraded the body reinforcement at the B/C pillars and door trim, rear cockpit and underbody crossbars to increase body rigidity.

The changes reportedly reduce noise, vibration and harshness, as well as enhance body control and stability and improve steering response and feedback.

All models get redesigned front bumpers and fenders, as well as flush aluminum badging.

The rear of the car has a redesigned bumper, rear spoiler and additional wipers.

There are new 19- and 20-inch alloy wheel designs for the base and Dynamiq trims, while the Epiq gets LED headlights with Hyundai’s Intelligent Forward Lighting System.

A new N Line option package ($2,500) brings unique front and rear bumpers and exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels, as well as gloss black mirror caps, body cladding and wheel arches, and “unique hidden light cues.”

Inside, the N Line gets black eco-leather and Alcantara upholstery, as well as an N Line-exclusive ‘semi-perforated’ leather steering wheel, metallic pedals, and plenty of red accents.

All Ioniq 5 models feature a redesigned center console that Hyundai says allows occupants to easily reach new physical controls for seat heating and ventilation.

There’s also a redesigned steering wheel, instrument cluster bezels and seat upholstery.

The most notable change inside is the introduction of Hyundai’s next-generation Connected Car Cockpit (ccNC), the company’s latest generation of infotainment.

This brings wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as Bluelink connected car services. It also has over-the-air updates.

The Ioniq 5 still uses dual 12.3-inch screens for the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster.

The base model no longer gets two-tone cloth upholstery, but instead gets a combination of black wool and eco-leather, while black eco-leather is standard on the Dynamiq and Epiq.

However, if you prefer the softer look of the old car, you can still get a light-colored interior as a no-cost option. Hyundai offers both Dove Grey/Dark Teal and Dove Grey/Dark Pebble Grey color schemes.

The Ioniq 5 comes with the latest versions of Hyundai’s autonomous emergency braking, highway driving assist and remote smart parking assist, as well as navigation-based adaptive cruise control.
