The 11th generation Honda Civic upgraded was launched in Thailand today and the model will be sold in the kingdom with two powertrain options across three variants. The estimated price for the 1.5 Turbo EL+ is 1.03 million baht (RM132,095), the e:HEV EL+ is 1.09 million baht (RM139,790) and the e:HEV RS is 1.23 million baht (RM157,780), according to Headlight Magazine.

On the outside, the upgraded FE generation Civic has redesigned front and rear bumpers like on the car. Launched in the USBoth the EL+ and RS versions feature honeycomb mesh on the main grille and lower section.

In terms of exterior dimensions, the FE Civic facelift measures 4,681 mm long, 1,802 mm wide and 1,415 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,733 mm. The two e:HEV variants are one mm longer in wheelbase (2,734 mm) and have a slightly smaller fuel tank capacity at 40 litres, compared to the 47 litres of the 1.5L Turbo.

The 1.5L Turbo EL+’s front and rear track widths are 1,547 mm and 1,587 mm, while the e:HEV EL+ measures 1,547 mm and 1,586 mm, front and rear; the e:HEV RS is listed as being 10 mm narrower in those figures, at 1,537 mm and 1,576 mm. The 1.5L Turbo EL+ weighs 1,319 kg, while the e:HEV EL+ and e:HEV RS weigh 1,412 kg and 1,429 kg, respectively.

The headlights are cluster lights on the 1.5L Turbo EL+ and LED on the two e:HEV variants, with automatic function throughout the vehicle. There are also LED daytime running lights, LED tail lights and an automatic headlight off function when the ignition is turned off.

Body-coloured door handles on the 1.5L Turbo EL+, with chrome on the e:HEV EL+ and black with chrome on the e:HEV RS. All three get side mirrors with integrated turn signals, which are also electrically adjustable and electrically foldable. The two e:HEV variants also get rain-sensing wipers.

On-roads for the EL+ for both the 1.5L Turbo and e:HEV powertrain variants are 17-inch two-tone alloys, shod with 215/50R17 tires. The Thai-spec e:top HEV gets the same seven-spoke design as the US-market car, and measures 18 inches in diameter on 235/40R18 tires, and has a monochrome gray finish instead of the US model’s two-tone machined set.

The powertrain for the sole 1.5L Turbo variant in Thailand remains the same 1,498cc inline-four turbocharged petrol engine that produces 178 hp at 6,000 rpm and 240 Nm from 1,700 rpm to 4,500 rpm, driving the front wheels via a CVT. Suspension is a MacPherson strut at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear.

The 2.0L e:HEV variants are powered by a 1,993cc naturally aspirated inline-four petrol engine that produces 141 PS at 6,000 rpm and 182 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm, the same as the engine on the pre-facelift FE model, which acts as a generator for the electric motor that produces 184 PS and 315 Nm of torque.

The interior colour scheme of the Thai-spec Civic facelift is black for all three variants, with the Turbo EL+ 1.5L and e:HEV EL+ getting a combination of leather and synthetic leather; the e:HEV RS gets suede and synthetic leather, with red contrast stitching, front door trim lighting and footwell lighting.

All three trims get push-button and remote engine start, the Honda Smart Key system, rear air vents, and automatic climate control; the e:HEV RS adds a Smart Key card and dual-zone climate control. All get an eight-way power driver’s seat, while the two hybrid trims add a four-way power front passenger seat, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a wireless device charger.

For infotainment, all three variants get Google’s integrated setup, with a nine-inch touchscreen offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for smartphone connectivity. There’s also Siri and Android Auto voice control, Bluetooth, four USB-C ports and Honda Connect. An eight-speaker audio system is standard, while the top e:HEV RS gets a 12-speaker Bose Premium Audio setup. The two hybrid variants get Active Noise Control.

Honda Sensing is standard on all three variants in Thailand, and includes collision mitigation braking (AEB), lane keeping assist, lane departure warning with lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, and lead vehicle departure notification.

Additional safety kit includes Honda LaneWatch (e:HEV EL+ and RS), front and rear parking sensors (e:HEV EL+ and RS), driver attention monitor, emergency stop signal, multi-angle rearview camera, dual front, side and curtain airbags, seatbelt reminders for front and rear passengers, Isofix child seat anchors, ABS, EBD, VSA, auto door locking when the vehicle is stationary, speed-activated door locking and temporary puncture repair kit.

In short, the 11th-generation Honda Civic FE facelift has been launched in Thailand, with an estimated price of 1.03 million baht (RM132,095) for the 1.5 Turbo EL, 1.09 million baht (RM139,790) for the e:HEV EL+, and 1.23 million baht (RM157,780) for the e:HEV RS.
