2024 Polestar 2 wait times revealed

Polestar has confirmed it has improved supply of its 2 electric car for Australia coming into the end of 2023.

Although there are some pre-configured examples of the 2023 Polestar 2 in stock – cars that are specified by the brand, and offered to customers as-is to reduce wait times – they’re running out fast.

The brand has confirmed the car will go back to being made-to-order for individual drivers with the launch of the 2024 model, with an expected wait time of between six and eight weeks.

“There is shipping constraints still, or congestion, but that is clearing up and we’ve got a strategy planned,” Matt McCroarey, Polestar Australia customer service senior manager told media.

Supply has been one of the issues holding back electric cars sales in Australia.

Tesla aside, brands such as Hyundai and Kia have been saddled with tight supply of their latest electric heroes, while Volkswagen is only now gearing up to roll out its electric range Down Under.

That appears to be changing. Hyundai and Kia are forecasting stronger supply of their cars going forward, and Volkswagen and its cousins at Audi and Skoda have locked in launch dates for their electric leaders.

The likes of BYD and MG have strong supply of their electric cars from China, and Tesla’s wait times are sitting at up to six weeks.
