2024 BMW i5 – Electric version of the new generation G60 5 Series revealed a leaked design before the launch date of May 24
The bmw i5 has been leaked ahead of its world premiere on May 24, with what are believed to be official images of the electric vehicle (EV) moving forward. CocheSpias Forum. At launch, i5 will be the brand’s first all-electric 5 Series, which will join non-EV variants as part of the eighth-generation G60 5 Series lineup.
The leaked images give us a pretty good look at some of the design features that will appear on the upcoming i5, some of which also apply to the regular 5 Series. First, the angled headlights seem to face more forward and come with L-shaped daytime running lights, the rear lights reminiscent of the latest generation. 3 Lines.
Meanwhile, the kidney-shaped grille has increased in size, though not so much to try to mimic the large nostril on the upper. i7. Instead, the i5’s grille has a more vertical height than what you’ve seen on the previous generation G30 5 Series innovationat the same time more upright.
Similarly, the central air intake in the lower part of the front bumper is more prominent thanks to being larger than on the G30, and also has the same hexagonal shape as the 3 Series. As for the windscreens, they are tucked deep into the corners of the bumper and are smaller in size than the G30.
Another change from the G30 is that there are no air intakes on the front fenders and the i5’s door handles are level with the body. We don’t have “official” leaked images of the rear of the i5, but a sneak peek of the 5 Series shows slimmer taillights and a sleeker C-pillar.
i5 will be offered in at least two variants, including M60 xDrive and eDrive40, although the German automaker did not provide other details such as capacity, battery capacity and range. The new 5 Series will also feature the brand’s ninth-generation Vertical Dynamic Management, which is the available Adaptive Suspension Professional electronically controlled damping control system.
All will be revealed when the 5 Series and i5 are announced in just a few days on May 24. Production of the G60 BMW 5 Series Sedan will begin in the summer of 2023 at the BMW Group Dingolfing Plant in Bavaria, with market launch scheduled for October 2023 – Interest registration has been opened in Malaysia.
