2023 Toyota GR86 Special edition increases power and paint color
The Toyota GR86 is getting a bright update in the form of a limited edition aptly named the 2023 Toyota GR86 Special Edition. Or, GR86 SE in the short term, with bright orange “Solar Shift” Exclusive paint for this special edition and a throttle cat exhaust.
Mechanically, not much is different about this new special edition. The GR cat-shaped exhaust doesn’t seem to help increase power (at least, Toyota’s announcement doesn’t say anything about an increase in power or torque), but it does offer “black chrome” exhaust tips. And hey, more sound is better, especially in a sports car like this.
If you ask me, the GR86 has always been a special product car to start. In 2022, it’s one of the few rear-wheel drive sports cars to come with a manual transmission and limited-slip differential.. It focus on handling and not just rough power.
GR86 is a car called dynamics, but that can create a lot of fun on the track. Hell, the GR86 SE 2023 is even coming with a free one-year membership of the National Automobile Sports Association – not a NASA rocket ship, but a for date tracking lovers. The GR86 Special Edition will be limited to just 860 units in the US, sold as a 2023 model. There’s no word on pricing yet, but it’s based on the GR86 Premium, so it should cost at least as much as the car. there, starting at $30,300.
