2023 Proton Exora launched in Malaysia – new logo, full leatherette seats; ESC is now standard; from RM63k


After a bit provocativeProton has officially launched the new Exora 2023, receiving a few minor updates as we Report back in May this year. This is the fourth update to the popular seven-seat MPV that’s been around since 2009, with previous versions introduced in 2019, 2017 and 2011.

The latest Exora will once again be offered in two variants, starting from the priced Executive version RM62,800 on the road without insurance, including excise tax. Meanwhile, the premium Premium line retails at RM69,800. Compare to Model 2019Executive and Premium are RM3,000 more expensive than before.

Both variants will continue to be powered by the familiar Campro 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, despite rumors of a factory switch of the X70 or X50. As before, the Campro CFE engine produces 140 PS at 5,000 rpm and 205 Nm of torque from 2,000 to 4,000 rpm, with drive to the front wheels via a CVT transmission.

Regarding the revisions, Exora’s exterior is now available Latest Proton logo on the front grille and tailgate. There’s also new LED daytime running lights, though these are Premium-only, as well as the 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels again. The Range-topper remains the only one with side skirts, rear spoiler, black roof and black tailgate trim.

Inside, the Premium version now has full leatherette seats instead of semi-leather. As with the exterior, you’ll also find the current Proton logo on the steering wheel. Aside from these changes, everything else in the cabin remains unchanged from before, including the 2-3-2 seat layout with the second row folding 60:40 and the third row folding 50:50.

In terms of equipment, the Executive comes with halogen headlights, 16-inch single-tone alloys (also replaced from before), manually folded rearview mirrors, urethane steering wheel, multi-information display instrument cluster, upholstered seats fabric, manual air conditioner. – air conditioning with rear vents and Cabin filter N95a standard head unit with Bluetooth and four speakers.

The Premium builds on the Executive by including the aforementioned LED DRLs, two-tone alloys, exterior accessories and full leatherette upholstery, as well as a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel and row armrests. front and second row (front row seats only in Executive) as well as sun visors for driver and front passenger (front passenger only in Executive).

Give reward For a premium, you also get a seven-inch touchscreen headband based on Geely’s Global Key User Interface (GKUI), with “Hi Proton” voice commands and 4G internet connectivity via an embedded eSIM card. Additional functions include music streaming, live navigation, smartphone connectivity, mirroring for Android, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

On the safety front, ESC is now standard on both the Executive and Premium, but only the latter have a reverse camera. Other features are shared and unchanged from before, including two airbags, EBD, EBD, two rear parking sensors and an emergency stop signal.

The five colors offered – Snow White, Indiana Grey, Rosewood Maroon, Ruby Red and Cocoa Gray – are all the same as before and are available in both variants. Each purchase comes with a five-year/150,000 km warranty, three-times free labor service, and a five-year data plan (1 GB/month).
