2023 Polestar 4 EV debuts at Shanghai Auto Show – new coupe SUV billed as brand’s fastest car
The Polestar 4 will debut at next week’s Shanghai Auto Show on April 18, and it will be the automaker’s fastest production vehicle to date. The company isn’t ready to reveal figures yet, but for reference, the Polestar 1 plug-in hybrid (the brand’s first model) has a 0-100 km/h time of 4.2 seconds. .

The image accompanying the announcement gives us a top-down view of the 4’s headlights, and if we look at an earlier image, it looks like it’s double-clicked with a more dynamic (and very lots of energy). However, it’s not so simple, Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath said: “Polestar 4 is more than simply a modified version of our first SUV. Instead, we revisited the entire design to create a new line of coupe SUVs.”
The company also said that “design cues and sustainable innovations originally introduced in Polestar concept cars will make their production debut in Polestar 4.” We’ll only know what Volvo’s sub-brand has prepared when the full reveal takes place next week.
