2022 Zurich Classic to score: Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele maintain lead after penalty shootout Round 2

AVOID, La (AP) – Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele shot 4 under 68 in Friday’s rotation at Louisiana’s windswept TPC to maintain a one-stroke lead in the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

The Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup partners opened with a tournament record of 59 on Thursday in the best match. They are 17 years old under.

Teams of David Lipsky-Aaron Rai and Doc Redman-Sam Ryder finished second after 67s.

Cameron Tringale-Wyndham Clark and Brandon Grace-Garrick Higgo under 15 years old. Higgo and Grace have 64, and Tringale and Clark have 67.

Masters champions Scottie Scheffler and Ryan Palmer decided with an even score of 72 to make the cut to the bottom eight.

The father-son team of Jay Haas and Bill Haas also cut the number, after 65 with 71. At 68 years, four months, Jay Haas is the oldest player to make the PGA Tour.

Robert Garrigus and Tommy Gainey, each playing on a sponsor waiver basis, followed round 61 with 78 to miss out. Earlier in the week, Garrigus revealed that he was applying for a PGA Tour release to play the inaugural LIV Golf competition.

Format turned back on Saturday the best ball. The last round will be shot alternately.
