The most awaited by Suzuki motorcycle fans in Malaysia is “Belang”, or Suzuki Raider R150 Fi 2022, priced at RM 8,173, excluding road tax, insurance and registration. Known as the Satria 150 Fi in neighboring Indonesia, the Raider R150 Fi is the fan-awaited Belang replacement since Suzuki changed its distributor in Malaysia two years ago.
Raider R150 Fi is equipped with a single cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, four-valve engine, meeting Euro 3 standards, 147.3 cc capacity. Power is announced as 18.2 hp at 10,000 rpm and maximum torque reaches 13.8 hp at 8,500 rpm when refueling with EFI.
For comparison, Honda RS-X (8,688 RM) reaches 15.8 hp and 13.6 Nm of torque while Yamaha Y15ZR (8,168 RM) has a capacity of 15.4 hp and 13.8 Nm of torque. Power from the engine goes through a six-speed gearbox and the final transmission by a chain.
Other competitors in this market segment for the domestic Suzuki Raider R150 Fi are Honda RS150R (RM8,299) and Yamaha Y16ZR (RM10,888). Just like what was said above, Raider R150Fi goes against the Benelli RFS150i price RM7,488 and SYM VF3i 185 Pro V3listed at RM9,338.
Suspension system with telescopic forks at the front while the rear of the Raider R150 Fi is equipped with a monoshock with adjustable preload. Braking is done with hydraulic disc brakes front and rear, while tire sizes are 70/90-17 front and 80/90-17 rear.
The weight of Raider R150 Fi is 109 kg with a 4-liter fuel tank and saddle height at 765 mm. Color options for the Raider 150 Fi are available in Malaysia and will be available from mid to late March at all authorized Suzuki Malaysia dealers.
