Nest Mini, Discount to $25, is all you need if entering the smart home world for the first time, but Nest Audio (8/10, Recommend with WIRED) is something you want to upgrade to if you’re after better music quality. Pair the two and you get a pretty awesome stereo system. They can act as Bluetooth speakers or simply ask the Google Assistant to play music through your favorite music streaming service. The assistant can also control smart devices in your home, and it will try to answer anything you ask, from weather updates to whether onions are toxic to dogs.

Amazon, Target, Best buy

Latest Amazon Echo (8/10, Recommend with WIRED) delivers stronger sound in all directions thanks to its 360-degree shape. There’s also a 3.5mm output so you can connect it to any existing speaker system. Talk to Alexa to control your smart gadgets, set timers, and get news alerts. This little ball can do so many things.

The speakers on this model aren’t as good as on the Echo above, but what makes this model special is parental control; You can set time limits, filter porn, and review activity. You get one year of Amazon Kids+, which includes Audible books and games (then $3 per month).

Target, Best buy, Outdoor shower bed

The smart display shows the time, doubles as a picture frame, and gives you a fixed touch screen to control smart devices in your home. We like Google’s Latest Nest Hub, powered by the Google Assistant. The speaker and mic are solid, which is great for a kitchen or bedside table (no camera). It can even track your sleep, though the feature was a bit of a stretch when we tested it.

We haven’t tested this exact model of Wyze Cam, but we did use its predecessor (it’s in Guide to the Best Indoor Security Cameras). This pack pairs it with Nest Hub second generation for a tantalizingly low price. You can view the video feed from the Nest Hub by asking the Google Assistant to pull it up.

Best buy, Lowe’s (Out of stock)

In ours Best outdoor security camera guide, this is our favorite. You’ll get crystal clear footage of the day and at night, thanks to the 2K resolution and HDR support. There’s a built-in siren and two-way audio, so you can talk to people through the camera. We needed to recharge it after less than three months of use. This deal is on pack 3.

Target, Best buy, Outdoor shower bed

If your home is equipped with Google Assistant-enabled smart devices, then you might want to try Google’s new Nest Cam. It works indoors, with clear 1080p video and two-way audio. There’s also HDR and night vision support, along with motion notifications for people, cars, and pets. Battery version also $150 off ($30 off)and it needs to be recharged after about a month. For more, check out ours Best outdoor security camera instruct.

Walmart, Amazon

One of the cool things about Eufy’s security cameras is that they don’t require registration and you can record video locally on a HomeBase hub. EufyCam 2 Pro made Guide to the Best Outdoor Security Cameras for that reason, but also because the two included cameras produce sharp and clear footage at up to 2K resolution and boast extremely long battery life. On the other hand, without HDR, accessing online video can be slow and active areas are limited.

Pet accessories deals

We have rounded more Deals on pet accessories and supplies here.

Roverlund Pet Transporter.

Roverlund (Use CYBER2021 at checkout)

This carrier complies with the sizing requirements of most major airlines and I really like it. The handle doubles as a leash, there’s a side pocket for snacks and you can keep your dog hooked. Mesh allows for breathability, plus a sturdy (and plush) base means your dog can take a nap in the air or on the train. I also regularly use Roverlund’s new pet, which is perfect for subway rides in New York City, where a dog in a bag is mandatory.

This is an expensive toilet box, but very rare. We tested and wrote about it in our guide to The best toys and supplies for cats. It has removable sides and comes with a place to keep the spoon and the included dust container.

Two WIRED reviewers tested and loved this DNA test for cats. It’s a quick turnaround and you can get a ton of health and breed information about your little kitten. It’s not the lowest price we’ve seen (it dropped to $69 in 2019), but it’s still a pretty great price.

BarkBox.

Barkbox offers a custom box of toys and treats for your dog delivered to your door every month. For new members, the company offers double everything — toys, snacks, and chewing gum — if you sign up for a six or 12 month plan. BarkBox is in our guide to The best dog technology and accessories, and for good reason. The toys are of high quality, as are the toys, although you can quickly feel overwhelmed by the amount of toys piled up. It’s a lot.

Handshake (Use HOUND at checkout)

No one wants the terrible shock of learning that their beloved friend is ill. DNA testing can help you figure out what to expect in the future and it also gives you interesting breed information. Embark is the most expensive dog test we tried, but it’s full of information. You might even find your dog’s relatives.

(Enter Code CYBERMONDAY at checkout)

We tried the older Fi collar and loved it. It uses your home’s Wi-Fi, cellular, and GPS networks to track your dog if they get lost and monitor their fitness. There’s an included light on the collar for walking at night, and the brand says the battery will last three months.

Mattress discount

These are not the only mattresses on sale. We have rounded More of our favorite mattresses here. For more details, read Best mattress shopping guide. We’re affiliated with queen-size mattresses for most of these, but other sizes are on sale.

Helix Midnight Luxe Hybrid Mattress.

Photo: Helix

Out of the dozens of mattresses we’ve tested, this is our favorite. That’s the only thing that makes WIRED director Jeffrey Van Camp rate sleeping in a bright room full of other people testing mattresses. It has a moderately firm feel, is comfortable for a number of sleeping positions, and a combined design provides better support for your back. This deal includes two free pillows.

(Enter Code BLACKFRIDAY at checkout)

This affordable mattress feels more expensive than it is, with gel-infused active foam to keep your body cool and individually wound coils for great edge support. High-density foam provides a moderately supportive feel. You usually shouldn’t skimp on a product that you will use every day, but if your budget is tight, this is one of the bangs that will best suit your budget.

Casper (Select a combination)

Casper’s hybrid is a palate cleanser for WIRED’s resident mattress tester Jeffrey Van Camp. It has a great balance of softness and support, it’s breathable, and it’s reasonably priced — selling even more. This model is slightly different from the one we tested, but web reviews say it is very similar.
