Super Bowl ratings have recovered from last year’s lows, but the National Football League’s championship game fell short of record expectations.
The game aired on NBC, Telemundo, and the Peacock streaming service, and attracted an average total of 112.3 million viewers. This is up about 14% from last year’s Super Bowl ratings.
The Los Angeles Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals, 23-20, and won the second Super Bowl championship in franchise history.
Super Bowl 2021 between Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs attracted an average of 96.4 million viewers. That was the worst rating for the Super Bowl since 2007, when the Indianapolis Colts played the Chicago Bears. That game also attracted 93.1 million viewers.
Super Bowl 2020 viewership, featuring Kansas City Chiefs first Super Bowl victory in 50 years, attracting an average of 100 million viewers. And Super Bowl 2019, featuring the Rams and New England Patriots, drew 98.2 million viewers.

However, the 2022 Super Bowl was helped by the arrival of the Bengals. The franchise last appeared in the NFL title game in the 1988 season.. Additionally, the Super Bowl returned to the Los Angeles market for the first time since 1993, when the event was held at the Rose Bowl.
P PredictHQ, a demand intelligence company, predicts the NFL’s title game will hit a record 117 million viewers.
The 2015 Super Bowl between the Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks is still the most watched game with about 114 million viewers.
