10 things to do in June for inspiration and energy, all month

Start perfecting your strawberry shortcake

It’s gluten free and vegan strawberry biscuits. If you’re not stumped by a steamy summer day and crave something sweet, there’s nothing more summer-appropriate than a classic strawberry cookie.

Tired of gluten-free treats that are more like hockey than cake, recipe creator Michelle Nash has high hopes for her grain-free spin — and nothing has been perfect as a result. Get ready for a cupcake that’s fluffy on the inside while keeping the crispy, golden brown top. In other words, baking in the summer is absolutely brilliant. Get the recipe here.

Read all books by Emily Henry

Is there a more perfect author to dive into this summer? While I’m well aware of the reality (again: trials and tribulations) of today’s dating culture, the rom-com still manages to hold my heart. Emily Henry’s voice brings a distinctly modern twist to stories and narratives that we can’t help but memorize over and over again. If you haven’t read it yet, Beach Read is a great place to start. Keep everything in chronological order, keep track The people we meet on vacationand finally, her latest, Book lovers. You can get hundreds of pages of engaging, easy-to-understand readings, but trust me, you’ll crave more.

Ditch the Blowdryer

I’m secretly grateful for my lazy inclination when it comes to beauty means saving time and keeping my hair healthy. Wash my strands twice a week? No problem. Leaving my hair wet when I work from home? Happy to do so. Don’t get me wrong, look amazing (and I have a Dyson Airwrap on my wish list). But with a few stylist approved tips and tricksyou can finish air-dried locks easily.

Get tennis

As a lifelong tennis player, it has been my eternal mission to get as many people into the sport as possible. With little equipment needed (a racket, shoes, and a tube of balls are enough) and public courts in most towns and cities, it’s just the most accessible and fun form of exercise. Gather your friends and get ready for a summer filled with whole lotta healthy competitions. Oh, and if you’re in need of cute tennis strings, Outdoor voice and Girlfriend group are popular lovers.

Clock Chat with friends

This June team list idea comes with a caveat — you have to let us know what you think. Following in the footsteps of Normal person successful television adaptation, Chat with friends visited Hulu to enthrall our (fictional) summer love life. Admittedly, this is my favorite of the Sally Rooney books, and the show feels a bit underwhelming. But in a world where TikTok commentary and reputation rating is 3/4 fun, I dare not pass up the opportunity to form my own opinion.

Loss of heat? The characters are unmistakable and one-dimensional (but some of them are intentional…). However, the show is beautifully shot and choreographed, and Jemima Kirke doesn’t disappoint. For T. Swift’s beauty? That is for you to decide. (P.S. Service Program main blueprint.)

Reshape your relationship with social media

I don’t know about you, but the commonly shared advice about getting rid of your social media feeds didn’t work for me. After all, the platforms are designed to be addictive. However, the mindset shift that has transformed the way I view and use social media couldn’t have been simpler.

So I often tap apps on autopilot, out of habit opening Instagram, TikTok and the like. Now, before I move on, I define my purpose. I’m looking for inspiration? Do I need a laugh? Do my friends post about something I want to celebrate? The more intent we have to weave into our social media habits, the more beauty and connection we can discover online.

Plan an easy and elegant summer menu

Seasonal cooking in the summer means all kinds of lively vegetables and flavored fruits. Light, yet bright, and colorful ingredients abound, and the result of all that’s fresh at the farmer’s market are meals worthy of the sun. Our favorite food enthusiasts and cookbook authors know this fact well, and we (always) take notes.

Get everything you need for a simple lunch in the backyard (complete with ) Rhubarb Meringue Cake), one relaxed, Italian-inspired dinnerand a vibes, collect sunset hosted by one of the couples with aesthetic tendencies we know.

While jewelry making is nothing new, the hobby has practically exploded overnight during the pandemic. And sure, crafting indoors may seem like more of a winter activity, but you can feel free to do your creative projects outside. If you are looking for a good place to start, these beaded necklaces beyond gorgeous, I Obsessed with with these statement earringsAnd what could be more summary shell jewelry? Answer: nothing.
