US proposes prisoner swap
America offer to exchange prisoners to Russia: Viktor Bout, a notorious Russian arms dealer, to Brittney Griner, the WNBA star, and Paul Whelan, a former Marine.
Foreign Minister Antony Blinken said on Wednesday that he would speak with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov for the first time since Russia invaded Ukraine about an “important proposal” to free Griner and Whelan. The US State Department said the two were wrongfully detained.
