Yordenis Ugas has successfully surpassed himself to become one of the more popular figures in the sport of boxing.
Since consecutive defeats at the hands of Amir Imam and Emanuel Robles in 2014, the 35-year-old Cuban cyclist has won 12 of his last 13 competitions. Undoubtedly, the peak of Ugas’ career came only a few months ago.
For a short time, Ugas replaced the injured unity general, Errol Spence Jr., to take on Manny Pacquiao. Initially, bettors ignored Ugas’ advantages in height, reach, and weight, as well as his overall skill set, and ranked Ugas as the decisive weakest.
Of course, Ugas will continue to beat Pacquiao through unanimous decision. Now, as Ugas prepares to face Spence Jr. mentioned earlier, on April 16, at AT&T Stadium, the gentle pugilist once again found himself underdog.
