World Emoji Day 2022: These are the most commonly used emojis

Emojis have fundamentally changed the way we communicate digitally. Emojis are a popular way for people to express or convey their feelings and sentiments in text. Our ability to communicate has been greatly improved by emojis, to the point that many smartphone keyboards now suggest suitable ones as we type. On July 17, people around the world celebrate World Emoji Day. This anniversary event was first publicly proposed in 2013 by Jeremy Burge, founder of Emojipedia. Interestingly, July 17 was chosen because this is the date shown on the emoji for “calendar”. More than 3,500 emoji are currently available as part of commonly used hardware, software and online services.

Let’s dive into the list of the most commonly used to emoticon in today’s world:

  1. Red Heart emoji: This is one of the most commonly used emoticons. It can be used to convey affection and passion. A standard red heart, multiple hearts, and many other colors and depictions of the person along with the heart are available on most platforms.
  2. Big crying face emoji: The yellow face with its wide sobbing mouth and heavy tears can confuse unprepared users, but fear not. While this emoji can be used to express sadness, it is also sometimes used to express happiness or relief.
  3. Face with happy teary emoji: The “Face with Tears of Joy” emoji depicts a person so excited that tears run down their cheeks. When someone says or does something funny or embarrassing, it can be used as an emotional sign to indicate joy or gladness.
  4. imploring face emoji: The “big puppy eyes” emoji has a number of uses. Sometimes people use it to express their unhappiness, while others use it to show concern. If you want to express pity, affection, or admiration for someone on social media, a begging face emoji is an option.
  5. Smiling emoji rolling on the floor: The yellow face that seemed to be rolling in laughter, tilted to one side, would be very familiar to many people. This emoji often depicts uncontrollable laughter, as opposed to Faces with tears of joy. It is also often used to retort when someone says something that you may find ridiculous.
