United States begins 11 World Cup match against Wales in Al Rayyan, Qatar. The US and Wales are in Group B along with England and Iran.
In their last two World Cup appearances, the United States advanced to the round of 16. However, a group with a lot of UEFA might not bode well for the United States. The USMNT has won just three of its 21 World Cup matches against UEFA rivals.
That hasn’t lost the confidence of USMNT manager Gregg Berhalter.
“What I believe is that on our best day we can beat anyone in the world,” he told ESPN’s Sam Borden. “Whoever.”
Whatever the outcome, youth will lead the way. defender DeAndre Yedlin is the only World Cup veteran after the right-back made his World Cup debut at the age of 20 in 2014. After 75 caps for Yedlin, the most experienced players on the list are: kellyn acosta (53), Christian Pulisic (52), Jordan Morris (49) and Tim Ram (forty six).
And yet, Yedlin’s experience is more than what the Welshman can resist. Wales is participating in the World Cup for the first time in 64 years. However, Wales has Gareth Balewho had an illustrious professional career that included five UEFA Champions League titles and three UEFA Super Cups while at Real Madrid.
