Woolworths-owned HealthyLife launches telehealth with Global Health
Woolworths supermarket giant’s health and wellness subsidiary HealthyLife has begun offering day-to-day telehealth.
It tapped a third-party virtual platform provider, ASX-listed Global Health, to help connect patients with GPs, dietitians and nutritionists, who can provides health consultations, medical certificates, electronic scripts and referrals.
WHY IT IMPORTANT
According to HealthyLife, there is an increasing need for healthcare consultations for weight management, gut health conditions and chronic pain. However, this may seem inaccessible to some as only 6% of Australian adults consult experts in natural or alternative medicine, a study found. Research recently revealed.

Dietitians Gut Health, a group of nutritionists offering virtual consultations, has also joined the new HealthyLife service.
Founder and director Nicole Dynan said: “Our practitioners can offer practical advice and guidance on health conditions such as gut issues, food intolerances, health status, weight control and healthy eating in general, helps all Australians lead a healthy life.”
BIGGER BACKGROUND
Woolworths continues its foray into the digital wellness and wellness space withwith the introduction of telehealth services amid a worsening GP shortage and growing GP differential payments in Australia. It launched HealthyLife in 2021 with the aim of providing verified health content and selling nutrition and wellness products.
Late last year, it expanded its partnership with SuperPharmacy by acquiring key technology and warehouse assets, acquired under the HealthyLife Pharmacy brand. SuperPharmacy is also now playing a role in HealthlyLife’s newest telehealth offering by filling prescriptions and delivering medicines to your home.
