I’m looking on a website for another donkey or two. I think they are the best. I already have three but I feel like I need at least one more. I don’t know why I felt like I wanted more, but I did. We’ve got all this land and we had a little rescue here in Texas, so I thought I’d add more donkeys.

When I was looking on the site, which I won’t name, I found these two bonded donkeys, so I posted bail and am working to find a means of transport. I got a message asking me to get another one. I don’t want to get another one, but I want to hear the story.

The story is that this donkey needs to get out of where he is. You don’t have much time left and you are the sweetest thing. The fear is that he won’t be rescued, and that he deserves better. His price has dropped so I can’t say no. He was on his way with the other two.

The first time I saw him, I was shocked. He’s in good form, like the other two, but there’s something special about him. The woman who asked me to marry him was true to her word, he was the sweetest donkey. He needs to be somewhere to show how sweet he really is. It breaks my heart to think that I almost missed this donkey.

He followed me like a puppy. He is affectionate and loving person. There’s nothing wrong with this guy. He was just eliminated and no one wanted him. No one took the time to see his character, except the lady who wanted to give him a second chance. I could feel the desperation in her words. I almost let him fall through the cracks, but something told me to just say yes. There’s one more, right? We named him Pedro.

He is a permanent fixture on the farm with all his donkey friends. He has many acres to graze and a nice barn to sleep in. He loves snacks and loves to be petted. This guy really deserves a second chance like all discarded animals. I can’t believe I almost said no.

I’m so grateful he’s here and he’s shown me how grateful he is to be here. I often told him how glad I was that he was rescued. It’s amazing how things turn out. I try not to think about what will happen to him if I say no. His outcome could have been very different. He is safe and in his permanent home.
