Which exposure mode is right for you?

When I started taking pictures, many people would tell me to shoot only in manual mode, and because of that, it took me a long time before I realized what the other modes on the camera were. In this video by Steve Mattheis, Steve dives into each mode and explains how to use them to match your photography style.

Program, shutter priority, aperture priority and manual: what does all this mean and how do they work? The exposure modes on the camera are a convenient way to learn exposure triangle, which is a great lesson for new photographers. Steve Mattheis has released this great video that walks you through the different exposure modes in detail.

Each of these modes has different uses. For example, if you want to capture birds in flight and if you want to set the shutter speed to 1/2,500, you can switch the camera to shutter priority mode and the camera will lock at that shutter speed. . The camera then decides on your own aperture etc. to match the shutter speed.

In other cases, you can choose to use only manual mode, where you have full control over your shutter speed, ISO, and aperture. As Steve explains, this is handy for ever-changing scenes, such as changing weather or lighting.
