When and how to transfer World of Hyatt points to other members


Many loyalty programs do not allow you to transfer points to other members, while some charge a fee to transfer points from one member to another. But, Hyatt’s World allows its members to combine points freely and with little restriction.

How to add points from World of Hyatt account

You can combine your World of Hyatt points with any other member. No family affiliation is required, but Hyatt says you can only combine points “in exchange for prizes.” Additionally, Hyatt notes that each member can only “transfer or receive points once in 30 days.”

To combine points, you must fill in a PDF form. Specifically, you’ll need to fill in the name, World of Hyatt number, phone number, mailing address, and email associated with both members’ accounts.

Members who wish to transfer points must also complete a section that allows Hyatt to deduct a specific number of points from their account and transfer them to another member. Both members will then need to sign the form.

After completing the form, you can email it to [email protected]. Alternatively, you can send the letter in paper form, but email is almost certainly more convenient (and faster) for most members.

Many times, I have received points from other World of Hyatt members through this process. In one case, it took up to 31 hours to reach my account after sending an email request to Hyatt. However, it will take almost a week for the transfer in 2022. The time required for your transaction may vary.

Hyatt’s terms and conditions note that both members must have an active account and the transferring member waives all rights to the combined points.
