It’s the middle of the year when it’s neither hot nor cold, but every ray of sunshine inspires creative style. It’s an inspiration season. The flowers are blooming in their cotton candy pink and the color is popping in every store window. The comfortable transition of seasons means we can now experiment with our outfit choices and display outfits that have been tucked away in boxes for months. For me, just seeing the sun is enough to dress up.
My summer fashion transition is well and truly underway, and I’m welcoming some of my most beloved pieces back into my wardrobe. I’m evaluating my current collection, reintroducing older pieces and looking at which items are missing or need to be restocked.
We can finally bring heavier coats for next fall and embrace loose pants, light knitwear and long-sleeve tops. Dresses. Swapping out a jacket for a knit sweater, blazer or jacket can make all the difference. My preference tends to be towards neutrals and my favorite color is chocolate brown. However, I can’t help but be attracted to the green color of sage every summer. It looks great on all skin tones. It also pairs great with the brown accessories on offer and of course jute, it’s summer anyway.
Boiler suits are also making a resurgence. The all-in-one offers comfort while providing a uniform and unified look. What’s more, I’m enjoying combinations, worn with or with other pieces.
