Yesterday was Fire Emblem day! Though really, with how many installments in the series, any day could be that day. However, with Fire Emblem joins here and more people are likely to discover the series, we felt it was a good time to review the best games in the series and recommend some of them to those who are interested. potential players. Hint: All are pretty cool!
Just like the bias I have towards FFX like my first time The Last Illusion, I have a very strong bias towards the Tellius duo. It’s a Fire Emblem: The Path to Shine and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. The characters are really hilarious, and even as a stupid kid who couldn’t read the instructions (what the hell is a circadian rhythm?), I managed to get it all done thanks to grit. corners and a lot of sacrifice. I salute all the random characters that I let to die just to let my Nephenee live. The story is a bit messy but still easy enough to follow and both are a hugely enjoyable experience. Like, I beat radiant dawn four times within a year. Admittedly, I only played half of it Radiant path because I don’t own the Gamecube, but I love it. My main concern is that the game forces me to take Sothe to the late game dungeon in radiant dawn because he’s so useless and almost overpowered by everyone. So thanks, Sothe. — Stephanie
I’ve said before that I’ve bounced almost every Fire Emblem the game i played next to three houses. Turned out three houses is something of a black sheep compared to other games in the series, so whatever Smart System and Koei Tecmo have done is different from the established formulas in the titles. previous game and awake the age has worked its magic on me. Maybe it’s the daily life structure or the route-based story, or the more realistically proportioned character graphics, but three houses is what i think about these days when someone mentions Fire Emblem. — Josh
There are bound to be flaws for everyone Fire Emblem games, but they are all magical and special in their own right. (Except Mystery of the icon. Sorry, man.) But there’s a reason awake saved the franchise. The characters are so adorable! There are nods to past fans, but not in a way that highlights the gameplay or the story. Also, hey: it can be both accessible to new fans and punishable at a higher level, rewarding clever unit building and creativity. — Graham
Because Graham chose what I consider to be his favourite Fire Emblem games, I’ll pick the best one I’ve played recently… Fire Emblem joins. I really love this entry, partly because the gameplay reminds me so much of that first 3DS entry. I think a lot of the characters are pretty likable too. It’s a solid piece with a lot of challenges to it, and I appreciate that. — jenni
