I don’t know why so many megacorps now celebrate a day dedicated to all those cyberpunks who fight against injustice and corruption every day of their lives, but it’s a day worth noting. So, take a break today and play some games between polishing the mirror, dusting it, and getting a new bootable disc ready. On Monday we hack the planet, but what are you playing this weekend?

I spent my lunch time this week playing Agatha Christie – Hercule Poirot: The First Cases (I wanted to be at the production meeting when they finally reached a compromise on the name.) The 45-60 minute run feels like an ITV series, which I really enjoyed and I’ll be watching a few more episodes this weekend, as it happens. I’m currently watching a chapter called Secret. I wonder what it could be about.

After buying a new winter cycling kit, I’m starting the weekend again with a 50-mile ride. And then the weather forecast said snow. Welcome. Alright, I’ll play Super automatic pet on the sofa while watching Christmas movies in my Hallmark Channel trial.

For whatever reason, I have to try to revisit some roguelikes. Hades and Dead cells, primarily. It could be that I’m after something ‘bitty’ that I can jump into looking for a hack and slash spot, then rush out if I lose. Also: there is a lie, eat a Twix.

I’m at that stage where I have so many bloody games going on that I’m a bit overwhelmed and just want to lie in bed and hide. I’m always on the lookout for a zombie game to play, though, so when I stumbled across The Last Stand: Aftermath, I knew it was my weekend sorted. I haven’t tried the set before, but the idea that you’re infected when you start is a strange premise I’d love to explore.

I have started a new way of playing about Dragon Age: Inquisition, which I realized when looking through old savings that I always do around this time of year. It’s just a fun and cozy game to snuggle up on the sofa and play. Will I finish it? Who knows! I will also attack Fall Steam Sale at some point, so I’m sure I’ll have more than enough to distract myself.

I’m still trying to convince some friends to race me in Forza Horizon 5, while selectively forgetting, they are all much better than me at car games.

I have a family birthday this weekend, so I will mostly be driving cross country and eating good food. I’m hoping to spend a few minutes of Strange Transformation here and there (I still haven’t had time to play the new Happy Home Paradise expansion for Animal Crossing: New Horizons), but it might be a weekend. no game unfortunately for me.

I recently rediscovered the highs and lows of Hunt: Showdown. I don’t remember being particularly brilliant in the game before, but now I’m looking back on those days with fondness. It’s like the part from Back To The Future, where Marty starts to fade away while playing the guitar. He’s in pain and doesn’t believe “I can’t play!” is what pops into my head every time I get easily sent away by another hunter. But then we don’t play Hunt because it’s easy, right? We play it for stories.

Are any of my Midlanders friends out there a fan of Steampunks in space? I wasn’t able to attend this year, but I attended in spirit as they selected the right game. This weekend I will continue with Chronicles of the great lawyer Ace and Max sexy business gentleman, just to make sure I don’t miss out on my all-important annual throat cleanser. How else can I know that it’s the end of Halloween and the beginning of Christmas?
