What are the 4 essentials to becoming an expert? (Video)


Study difficult. Just knowing how much effort we have to put in to master a certain skill often puts us off the hook for this idea altogether. Fortunately, there is an encouraging rule that says if you spend at least 10,000 hours honing your abilities in any field, then you will become an expert in the field. But is it really that simple? And is it just grinding the hours it takes to become, say, a good pianist or a high-level programmer?

Reality is a bit more complicated. Many studies and actual observations indicate that what we call ‘being an expert’ is actually distinguished by the human brain’s ability to distinguish certain patterns that they encounter at a given time. some point in life. These models can be very difficult: for example, predicting chess movements before five moves. But once a person has memorized the pattern, it can be recalled very quickly later.
