Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 — Introducing Ashika Island

Announcing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 Season 2, launching on February 15

Ashika Island is a centuries-old village besieged by the forces of the Shadow Company. Navigate an ancient shipwreck and ruins, modern town center, beach club, harbor, organic farm, or fortified castle standing on the island. Ashika Island has its own secrets to uncover, often rewarding the intrepid explorer. Its points of interest include:

Ōganikku Farm – Much of the northwestern area of Ashik Island consists of a mixed agricultural, residential and industrial use, along with former coastal defenses.

Downtown – Impressive sea wall defenses, Ferry Terminal, tourist facilities, semicircular Town Hall structure and more highlight this attraction.

Beach Club – Further southwest of the Town Center, and east of the Harbor are the aquarium and the Beach Club and the southwest beach outdoor swimming.

Tsuki Castle – The higher ground in the center of Ashik Island is dominated by an old castle with many fortifications, cherry blossoms in full bloom, and a natural defensive hill along the southwest side of the structure.

Ashik Port – The southwestern edge is mostly rocky slopes and a port named after the island. Expect an array of industrial warehouses, offices, and communication towers as you venture out into the ocean.

Residential area – In the lower ground below the castle battlements to the north, and east of the Farms and allotments were a number of residential areas nestled among several industrial structures.

Shipwreck – Inclement weather and treacherous shores spelled the fate for the two cargo ships. Both ships ran aground here, and the Shipment Containers they carried were mostly happily stored and stacked.

Revive back: Available for all team sizes – Solos, Duos, Trios, and Quads – in regular Playlist updates throughout the season, Respawn Mode allows for multiple respawns, as long as one member in The team is still standing. If a team member is eliminated while one or more team members are still alive, a countdown timer will appear next to their name. When this countdown reaches zero, they redeploy to the Drop Zone.

This countdown can be shortened when your teammates perform specific actions in the game, such as eliminating enemies. This countdown gets longer with each circle collapse until the last few circles — during which all redeployments, except those purchased through the Purchase Station — disabled. The team standing last wins.

Features exclusive to Ashika Island

Honor Restoration (Debut, Revive): Every moderator on Ashika Island will drop a dog tag on death, which can be picked up by teammates or themselves after redeploying. Doing so grants a small Cash reward and a single UAV ping that marks both enemy threats and nearby Supply Boxes.

Search and Capture (During Season, Revive): Claim a stolen vehicle from the Shadow Company forces on the island. The operator must disable any security guards near the vehicle, then retrieve the dropped key and take the vehicle to the designated drop-off point. Expect strong resistance on your way to your destination.

Data Robbery (In Season, Revive): A new Public Event, Data Theft occurs during the second round of collapse, when three uplink stations go online on the map. Teams can infiltrate and stay close to the uplink station to gather information. Eliminate incoming Shadow Company forces to speed up the download process.

An enemy operator can halt progress by directly contesting the station area or by using DDoS Field Upgrade. Teams that successfully download information from two or three uplink stations will receive more rewards, such as a random Killstreak or even an Enhanced UAV.

Re-deploy drones (In Season, Revive): Re-deploying Drones is a high-risk, high-reward way to reposition around Ashika Island. Simply hook the cable to the drone via interaction, then launch and parachute to a remote location. Drones occasionally change position during the match and can be targeted by locking missiles.

New Cowboy Warriors (In Season, Revive): What they lack in defense, the Rusher makes up for with agility and a deadly short sword. This enemy also carries a pistol in case of inaccessibility for melee attacks, as well as mini smoke bombs for distraction and repositioning.

DMZ extends to Ashik island

As part of the new season, Ashika Island will be the new Exclusion Zone accessible in the DMZ. This new area continues the narrative of the mode and other new features like the Boss Hideout.

Season 2 battle pack for PlayStation Plus members

Released on February 22, the Season 2 Battle Pack grants Hiro “Oni” Wantanabe a new Operator Skin that matches the journeys of those living in the Samurai Code.

PlayStation Plus members will also receive the following: SMG Blueprint “Oni Carver”, Assault Rifle Blueprint “Oni Slasher”, Weapon Charm “Yoroi”, Animated Call Card “Crimson Oni”, Weapon Stickers “Golden Dragonfly”, and “Grilled Oni” Emblem.

Modern Warfare II — Ranked Play, Maps, and Extras

Play ranked: Prove your skills in this feature-packed Multiplayer mode using Call of Duty League (CDL) approved rules, restrictions, maps, and modes. Earn exclusive items and display your public skill rank with pride.

Ranked play consists of seven Skill Ranks — Bronze to Top 250, where your name will be displayed on a special Top 250 leaderboard. Earn Division Skill Skins based on your highest rank during the Season, including rewards for completing Gold for the first time or higher, along with other unique rewards given each season.

New multiplayer map at launch

Dome (Core Map): Located at the highest point in Al Mazrah, the Dome is the recreation of one of Call of Duty’s most iconic Multiplayer maps. This small to medium sized map is built for fast-paced combat in and around its three main buildings, including the iconic dome structure.

Zaya Observatory (Battle Map): The Battle Map version of the Dome expands to cover the entire peak area.

Al Malik International (Battle Map): This modern airport located at the southern tip of Al Mazrah features traditional and modern architecture. Use the skills you have applied here in Battle Royale and DMZ to win.

The other core map that debuted at the beginning of Season 2 is the Valderas Museum, which goes back since first appearing in the Modern Warfare II Beta.

New multiplayer mode

Infected (Debut): The moderator must avoid the selected Infected player at all costs. Survivors are eliminated from Infected Persons until there are none left or time runs out.

Gun Game (Debut): Each ranged remove awards the next weapon, while the melee remove returns your opponent to one weapon in an 18-weapon spin.

Grind (Debut): Kills are confirmed with a twist: Enemy dog tags are stackable and must be placed in one of two permanent locations. Bank multiple dog cards at once to maximize points gain.

Drop Area (During the Season): A derivative of Hardpoint, Drop Zone will send Care Packs down to occupied areas every 15 seconds. Perfect for those looking to increase their Killstreak eliminations or those who just enjoy pure chaos.

All or Nothing (In the Season): Moderators start the match with Knife Throw and a pistol with no ammo, plus extra perks after each discard starting with Scavenger, which grants ammo after each discard.

One of the Room (In Season): Each Moderator receives a shotgun with one bullet in the chamber for this Free for All variant. Each discard rewards an extra bullet, and the Moderator has only three respawns.

Raid Episode 2 Coming Mid-Season

Atomgrad is just the beginning. Price, Farah and Gaz will return later in Season 2 with Episode 2 of The Raid, the sequel to Operation Modern Warfare II.

The Road of the Season Trials Ronin

The Ronin’s Way event offers seven challenges to complete in Warzone 2.0 or Modern Warfare II based on the themes of Integrity, Respect, Courage, Honor, Compassion, Sincerity, and Loyalty. Complete every challenge to unlock the new Crossbow functional weapon.

Five new weapons at launch

Get three of these new weapons through the Battle Pass Season 2, and the other two through the seasonal challenges:

ISO Hemlock Assault Rifle (Launch, Battle Pass): This powerful and innovative rifle from Expedite Firearms is designed to use both 5.56 and subsonic .300 BLK ammunition, giving it a battlefield advantage in any situation.

KV Broadside Shotgun (Launch, Battle Pass): Bringing the power of 12 gauges to the Kastov Platform, the KV Broadside is a semi-automatic with the fastest rate of fire in the pistol class. Kill the target at close range with no penalty.

Crossbow (Launch Window, Challenge): Silent and agile, this high-performance crossbow fires 20-inch bullets with outstanding damage. Exclusive customization, unique functionality and unique ammo types make this weapon a class of its own. The standard 20.0″ bolt is recoverable and the Trophy System is undetectable. Unlock this new functional weapon by completing Ronin’s Path challenges.

Also coming to Season 2 are dual Kodachis Melee Weapons as part of the Battle Pass, as well as a new Marksman Rifle that will be available mid-season.

New personal watercraft

Complementing the Medium Armored Patrol Boat and RHIB, the Personal Seaplane (PWC) is an agile seaplane capable of rapidly carrying up to two Operators across waterways.

New operator

Daniel “Ronin” Shinoda (Debut): Returning from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019), Ronin is a Special Forces veteran known for his mastery of multiple fighting styles. He is an accomplished saboteur who is able to break through defenses that no other Operator can.
