Vin Diesel shows off 3 familiar muscle cars during filming of ‘Fast X Part 2’ on Instagram

It seems like there are very few things in this world Vin Diesel love more “Fast and furiousFranchisingand he’s a big fan of sharing that love with his fans. Most recently, that’s meant posting behind-the-scenes videos of “Fast X Part 2” on Instagram, showing off all the cars that will be coming—or returning—to the series.

This started months ago, with the revelation that The original Supra is backBut a new video from Diesel shows even more of the car making an appearance. This time, though, there’s a definite Toretto flavor to the ride.

Diesel’s video focuses primarily on a car carrier featuring three Mopar products: a modern Challenger, a classic ‘Cuda, and a Road Runner. Interestingly, the Challenger is very similar in design to the Dom’s SRT8 from the intro of “Fast and Furious 6”“—grey rear fenders, multi-piece wheels with black spokes and silver rims. The original SRT8 didn’t have this new car’s HEMI badge on the side, but the resemblance doesn’t seem to be a coincidence. At the very least, it’s an intentional callback.

Then we have the Barracuda, a car we haven’t seen since “Furious 7.” Here again, the car in the Instagram video looks very similar to its previous appearance—when Letty drove the still-unmodified Plymouth in Race Wars to try to jog her amnesiac memories. It’s clearly the same generation of ‘Cuda as that car, with the same color and decals, but it’s unclear whether the wheels are exactly the same as in Diesel’s video.

The last car on the trailer, oddly enough, appears to be Dom’s Plymouth GTX — 5,000 horsepower car He drove it when he briefly turned evil in “Fate of the Furious.” This is the most surprising return of the bunch, as the Plymouth was a specific and intentional change from Dom’s usual Dodge to show how far he’d fallen to the dark side. I’m surprised he still has it.

In addition to the trailer, we can see a few other cars parked around. There’s a 370Z to Diesel’s left as he films, and what appears to be a vintage Charger Dad Remembrance behind it. Behind the Charger, there’s a black station wagon or hatchback, but it’s unclear exactly what it is—or even if it’s there for filming. It could be the car Diesel drives to lunch.

Diesel’s latest Instagram clip shows the return of some historic “Fast” vehicles, and new videos suggest that cars from more recent movies may be making a return. With Fast X Part 2 As the series draws to a close, we’ll likely get to see some flashbacks to previous installments — or simply discover the secret Toretto garage, where all the cars accumulated over the last ten films are kept.

It remains to be seen whether “Fast X Part 2” willmaybe a good car movie like “Tokyo Drift”,” or whether Andy will be able to guess the plot from the book cover.. Honestly, he’s had a pretty good track record with this.
