Last week we flew on Virgin Atlantic’s brand new A330-900neo for first commercial flight. Following TPG UK fashion, we compared all three classes on this journey from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) arrive Boston Logan International Airport (BOS).

We were looking forward to climbing on board A330-900neo since June 2019, when Virgin Atlantic first revealed that it has ordered 14 brand new planes. According to Virgin, the A330-900neo is 11% more fuel and carbon efficient – not to mention, much quieter – than the A330-300s they are replacing. In addition, the airline has also improved each class of seats to really bring something very interesting.

Nicky Kelvin Selected a seat in Premium Class, special guest Sam Salter fly in premium economy and Liam Spencer tried the new economy class seat in the back of the plane.

TPG has booked seats in each cabin with the following rates:

  • Upper class: 57,500 Virgin points plus £624 ($696) in taxes and fees.
  • Premium Economy Class: 27,500 Virgin points plus £374 ($417) in taxes and fees.
  • Economy: 20,000 Virgin points plus £218 ($243) in taxes and fees.
