Toyota Innova Zenix does not replace cheaper Innova MPV – second generation still on sale, RM134k to RM142k
The Toyota Innova Zenix was launched tonight not a substitute for Second generation Innova in Malaysia. UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) says the old MPV model, internally known as the Innova CG, will continue to be sold alongside the Zenix.
“For those who demand more load-carrying capacity and functional attributes, UMW Toyota Motor will continue to offer the Innova 2.0X and 2.0G currently assembled in Malaysia,” the company said.
The Innova CG is priced from RM133,880 (G) to RM141,880 (X), while the new Zenix starts at RM165,000 for the 2.0 V version. That’s a significant price gap of over RM23,000 between the cheapest Zenix and the Innova CG the most expensive. The new Zenix 2.0 HEV hybrid even surpassed the RM200k mark. Zenix is a CBU import from Indonesia while the CG is locally assembled CKD.
‘Old Innova’ is the second generation facelift model Launching here February 2021. This generation of Innova first appeared in Indonesia at the end of 2015. It rides on an IMV ladder chassis and is rear-wheel drive, just like it has been since the original Innova debuted in 2004.
