Titantimepiece GP watch

A few years ago, I had the opportunity to review a special watch called the Nixie Horizonte. As its name suggests, this watch uses the Nixie tube technology that was used during the Cold War. It is certainly not the only Nixie watch on the market. However, features like the oversized Grade 5 titanium rectangular case (57mm x 46mm x 15.5mm) and sapphire crystal make it one of the best watches on the market. This creation was the brainchild of Igor Gudiy, a trained engineer. It was essentially his first creation. He later developed his own brand called Titan Watches and create more sophisticated unique models. A great example can be found in the sophisticated GP Watch.

In several conversations with Igor Gudiy, he explained his fascination with vintage electronics. This inspired him to painstakingly source LED indicators and dosimeters from the 70s and 80s. Initially, these were used to create numerous prototypes. Once Igor was satisfied with the quality, he registered the business name Titantimepiece in his country of residence, Italy. It was at this point that I reconnected with him and was delighted to discover GP Watch.

At first glance, the GP is reminiscent of futuristic creations from brands like MB&F, RJ Romain Jerome, and Urwerk. However, instead of a traditional mechanical watch movement, the GP is powered by an electronic RTC quartz chip. This is clearly visible through the sapphire crystal window on the dial. My favorite feature, however, is the dual red LED light that displays the hours and minutes. There is also a rechargeable battery, which adds to the longevity. The battery is powered by a USB cable. In my opinion, this watch is the perfect combination of style, function, and technology.

Aesthetically, the GP Watch has a bold, futuristic look with a touch of vintage chic. For this model, Igor Gudiy chose to use Zirconium instead of titanium or steel. This is an inspired choice as the material is not only extremely corrosion resistant but also has a touch of luxury. Ultimately, this is why it is often reserved for more avant-garde brands like Hublot and MB&F. In terms of size, the GP Watch measures 50mm x 30mm, making it ideal for everyday use. However, you can even wear this watch with formal wear if you want to make a great vintage impression.

To complete the look, the GP watch is equipped with a refined black full-grain leather strap or an industrial titanium strap.
