This Corvette C5 is becoming more and more explosive

The C5 corvette is the first all-new Vette in more than a decade. With its small-block V8 engine, sleek design and outstanding performance, it showed that the Corvette was ready to compete with the best in the world. Now, 20 years after the end of production, the C5 has arrived with some interesting things…you know? I’m not even going to sugarcoat it. C5 are coming across as abominations. Take this example I found for sale above Facebook Market.

Listed by an agent in El Paso, Texas named Azteca engine, this C5 should be fine in any other setting. It’s a 2000 and has only 52,000 miles on it. Not bad. However, that price will only be good if you haven’t seen this thing first. The seller describes it using words and terms like “pristine,” “collectible,” and “one-of-a-kind beauty.”

At the front, there’s a large front splitter that may have all sorts of scratches underneath, a panel that reads “USA 1,” a giant “Lingenfelter” decal at the bottom of the windshield, an air vent. roof-mounted and a large domed hood.

Go around to the side and you’ll see a unique air vent located just in front of the mud duct, the “GT1” and “LeMans 24 Hour Championship Edition” decals make absolutely no sense, the C7 Stingray badge for good reason. For some reason there are “Lingenfelter” decals underneath, a giant fuel filler door, a US flag on the b-pillar and some cooling ducts on the upper rear fenders that look taped on until you see that they are really flat and integrated with the body panel.

The rear is almost shocking.

Popping the hood is just as bad. I guess those Lingenfelter badges mean something. Along with John Lingenfelter’s signature on one of the Grand Sport-like stripes on the front fenders, this car’s engine also appears to have been tuned by Lingenfelter. The engine carries the words “Lingenfelter 502 Performance Engineering” on top, although the dealer did not disclose the engine’s horsepower.

Surprisingly, the interior isn’t as bad as the exterior. It’s mostly stock, except for a big roll bar, some racing seat belts, race gauges, and a Hurst shifter badge. The car also has the original window sticker from 2000. This is an automatic transmission car.

If you don’t mind being embarrassed and are interested in the item, the seller is only asking $25,000 for it.
