This Cardcaptor Sakura Figure will cost over $1250

Furyu Will open pre-orders for Sakura Kinomoto 1/4 scale characters from Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card-hen on April 30, 2022. This number is for 25th Anniversary of Cardcaptor Sakura. Since the kimono is a handmade fabric, Furyu will only produce quantities by pre-order. [Thanks, Hobby Dengeki!]

The motif for this image is based on the cover from the May 2020 issue of Nakayoshi. Nakayoshi is a monthly shoujo manga magazine. Yoshitokuis a shop that specializes in hina doll and gogatsu ningyo, designed the kimono as a collaboration with F:NEX, Furyu’s hobby goods brand. Hina and gogatsu ningyo dolls are both traditional dolls for Girls’ Day and Boys’ Day.

There are cherry blossoms on the back of the obi, and also gold leaves in the embroidery. According to the article, the gold leaf and obi decorations are to create a celebratory feel. As mentioned earlier, this number is to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the series. Sakura was also holding a cherry blossom branch. The cherry blossoms on the obi use “tsumami zaiku”, which is when the artist repeatedly pinched the material to create a flower-like shape.

Furyu and Yoshitoku’s Japanese Sakura Kinomoto doll is open for pre-order until July 13, 2022. It will cost 168,300 JPY, or about $1285.15. The production is on-demand and this figure will ship in February 2023. F: NEX No overseas delivery.
