My (now deceased) parents knew that my 19-year-old 1991 Mazda Navajo LX (essentially a Ford Explorer Sport) was in slow mechanical condition. I’m not a kid, I have college degrees and PhDs, but I didn’t thrive financially and was laid off during the Great Recession. It’s 201o and they “sell” me their 1997 Infiniti I30t for $1 (plus a plane ticket from Burbank to Las Vegas where they live. I insist it was a sale by a person) Some personal income issues and want to make sure the transfer and ownership are done 100% Kosher.
For me, it’s real luxury: leather seats, power/etc seats, functional air conditioning (fergawdsakes, I live in Glendale, CA, it’s almost as hot as Vegas in the summer), CD player ( really an upgrade from the cassette), about 80,000 miles less, more power, more fun to drive, better handling (duh) and better fuel economy (double). Sure, it doesn’t have 4WD and a large cargo area but I don’t live in Nor. Cal. and without a dog (sigh). Either way, it’s the best car gift I’ve ever received.
Having never seen a Mazda Navajo before, at least intentionally, I have to say: This is tough. I love this pickup truck. I’m buying these now, and I hate you for doing this to me.
