There will be a theory test for a motorbike or car license

In the near future, the theory test will be standardized for individuals who take the test for driving licenses for motorcycles, cars, Star reported. Transport Minister Anthony Loke said some motorists have spoken out that they are required to take a theory test to get a motorbike license and then a separate car license.

“This is not like before when we could only complete the theory test once for both licenses. I think we can simplify this to ease the burden on people,” Loke said in a radio interview on Monday, adding that the proposal had previously been put forward. out during his previous term as transport minister in 2018.

Under current regulations, anyone who obtains a motorcycle license or a private driver’s license must pass two theoretical exams, one application for each respective license.

This exam will have 50 multiple choice questions with a minimum pass rate of 84%, or correctly answer 42 questions. However, for those taking both licenses at the same time, the exam will have 70 multiple choice questions with a minimum of 59 correct answers.

Meanwhile, Loke added that a statement will be released soon regarding extension of validity period of Malaysian driver’s licenseThe current maximum is five years.

The transport minister said in February that an extension of the maximum validity period to 10 years was under consideration.
