Meghan Specksgoor from Midlothian, Virginia, decided to ask her father to look after her dog while she was preparing to go to New York. Her father Larry is certainly the proud grandfather of a 4-year-old German Shephard named Chance. Meghan decided to post her messages on Twitter about the two and their adventure. They have since gone viral, with over 55,000 retweets.
In his father’s first message, Larry wrote: “Grandpa wants to know what kind of takeout I can order? We’re starving.”

“I hate to bother you, Mom, but we really need to hang out with grandpa more,” Larry wrote in another message, which showed a picture of Chance happily playing with his grandfather at the park.

Next up is Chance and Grandpa sent this one! “Hi mom, it’s me again. We had a picnic and are now going to the nail salon. Grandpa said if I feel well I can have ice cream. What kind would I like?” Larry even inserted an emoji! So cute.

After a picnic dinner together, Larry took Chance to have his nails trimmed. Then he took Chance out for dog ice cream for dessert. At the end of their wonderful day together, Larry lets Chance join him in bed. Looking at Chance’s face, you could see he was happy. Grandpa is treating”grandson“like gold!”
Larry sent his last message with the content: “Mom, grandpa is sleeping with me tonight, do we need to tell him anything?” He continued: “Hope you have as much fun as I do seeing you tomorrow and goodnight, love you so much ❤️“We just love this man!

It’s great to have a dad (and grandpa) like Larry. Meghan knows Chance will be well taken care of if she ever has to leave her furry baby behind. Larry really wants to have human grandchildren (eventually). I bet he’ll spoil them just as much as he loves spoiling Chance.
