The truck driver repeatedly rammed into the car, causing many near misses and obstructing traffic
In a series video posted to Twitter by user Simrath, footage from the front and rear cameras shows a driver encountering an articulated truck being driven aggressively while en route from the Interstate Highway to Subang Airport , then follow the ramp to the North Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE).
The author of the post claimed that the truck was driven recklessly from a distance before they encountered the truck, overturned, and nearly crashed into their vehicle. The author honked his horn to express his dissatisfaction, then tried to overtake the truck but failed because the truck driver moved to block the author’s car.
Further down the road towards Subang Airport, the truck driver applied the brakes in the far right lane and appeared to have attempted to drive into the video vehicle as the vehicle behind attempted to overtake the currently stationary lorry. . The author of the post once again met the truck driver on the ramp leading to the NKVE entrance, where the trucker braked the author again.
According to Section 42 of the Road Traffic Act 1987 (revised 2020), the penalties for reckless and dangerous driving are deprivation of the right to drive for 5 years, a maximum prison term of less than 5 years, and a fine of RM5,000 to RM10,000 for the first offense.
Incidents like these are also a reminder to have a camera journey fitted to your vehicle if you haven’t already, this will provide you with video evidence in the event of any dispute regarding an incident on the road.
