The kind worker pulls all night to protect the abandoned lost puppy he rescued

Rescuing a stray puppy may not be one Copis work, but some nice officers don’t do it for work. Some people really want to help the little ones who can’t help themselves. Officer Kareem Garibaldi of the Lakeland Police Department in Florida is one of those wonderful people.

Officer Garibaldi was working the early morning shift on a Saturday in May 2016. While driving his patrol car, he nearly collided with a Pit/Boxer mix dog. Puppies between 8 and 10 weeks old have no identification tags or collars and are just running around.

With no contact number or address to return to, Officer Garibaldi was Search give the puppy’s family into his own hands. He walked around the neighborhood and posted pictures on social media the next day, hoping someone would recognize her. Bad luck.

Unable to locate any of his family members, he took the puppy to the LPD for food and warmth until the end of his shift. There was no way he’d let her take care of herself.

At the end of the third day in a row working the 12-hour shift, Officer Garibaldi knew he had more work to do for the dog. During his respite, he took the dog to SPCA Florida Medical Center for care and examination.

Officer Garibaldi sat in the waiting room from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. while the vet examined the puppy. The shelter’s safety net manager, Connie Johnsonhappened to two people that morning and took a photo that is now going viral.

“I couldn’t resist taking this photo as I walked into the clinic at SPCA Florida this morning. Police officer Kareen went out of her way after working all night to make sure this puppy was safe and healthy. Thank you so much for all you do!! You’re such an inspiration.”

Johnson essentially repeated the ministry’s statement. She shown How wonderful was the officer’s commitment to this dog.

“It was clearly a selfless act. He didn’t think about going home to sleep. He is thinking about what he can do to help this puppy survive. He actually wakes up at one point just to see if she’s okay, then he goes back to sleep.”

Thankfully, Officer Garibaldi’s efforts proved invaluable. The puppy was eventually adopted later that day by a dispatcher. She now calls her Hope, a fitting name.

The Lakeland Police Department notes that things like this happen all the time and are not often recorded.

“That’s what happens to the officers in our department. A lot of them have done such wonderful things to help the community – but they are very humble. They don’t do it for personal recognition so it often goes unnoticed. “

These are unsung heroes like Officer Garibaldi who gave their all for furry friends. Hope to definitely thank him again if she can!
