According to NOAA, temperatures hit record highs in many parts of the world last month, including Greenland and Africa:

The reality is a bit more mundane, as NOAA has no temperature data for much of Greenland and Africa.

Much of the world is also much colder than normal.
NOAA also says it knows what the global temperature was in July 1881:

This is really amazing because they only have a handful of radio stations in North America and Europe:

However, at least back then they didn’t put weather stations next to airport runways and power stations!
