The first Tesla Supercharger station in Malaysia located at Pavilion KL – eight charging compartments in parking area B1
It won’t be long before Tesla makes its official debut here, with the electric car brand going to be launching in Malaysia tomorrow, July 20. We came across the first Tesla Supercharger station by chance, in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, during a visit to the mall earlier today.
Located in the mall’s basement parking area, the indoor station consists of eight Superchargers, presumably V3 sets, that provide up to 250 kW of DC fast charging capacity each. Units remain dormant, with the area cordoned off and a sealed Tesla (likely Model Y) located in one of the compartments. Interestingly, the compartments are clearly marked “Tesla charging only.”
Pavilion Station is one of the 10 stations planned for the first stage of the entry of the brand here. The other nine stations are listed as future locations, although these are general areas, with no specifics. Five of these will be in the Klang Valley, at Dengkil and Petaling Jaya in Selangor, and at Bukit Jalil and two other locations in KL.
In the northern region, Tesla Superchargers will eventually be available in Ipoh and Perai in Penang, while the southern region will have two locations, in Negeri Sembilan and Iskandar Puteri, Johor.
These locations were revealed with the activation of the Tesla Malaysia national page and Tesla Configurator for Malaysia in Malaysia last Friday. The latter has been seen Pre-orders are open for Tesla Model Y, which comes in three specifications, Model Y RWD (199,000 RM), Model Y Long Range AWD (RM 246,000) and Model Y Performance AWD (RM 288,000).
