The first pony comes to Darley Stallion Maxfield
Darley America’s second year stallion Maxfield Breeders’ Futurity (G1) and Clark Stakes (G1) winners, represented by his first reported foal on January 7 at Kiki Courtelis’ Town and Country Farms in Georgetown, Ky.
Bred by town and country farms, the gulf pup is out of the stakes, ranking 3rd Commissioner mare Dreamalildreamofu . The dam won the 2021 Twixt Stakes at laurel park after finishing third in the Chicago Stakes (G3) at Arlington International Racecourse and runner-up in the Allaire DuPont Distaff Match Series Stakes (G3) at Racecourse Pimlico early that year.
Town and Country CEO Shannon Potter said of the newborn, “We’re very pleased with our pony Maxfield. It’s pretty stout with all the nice angles you’d expect. It had class and presence.”
Maxfield won a second start in Breeders’ Futurity at Keeneland by 5 1/2 lengths and decided to end his career in Clark at Churchill Downs. In between, he won four more classified races, including Alysheba Stakes (G2) and Stephen Foster Stakes (G2), both at Churchill Downs. The son of street feeling are also seconds in the Woodward Stock (G1) and the Whitney Share (G1) in New York.
Maxfield is over velvet one Bernardini half-sister with half-sister sky , from Buckpasser’s hosting family and Personal Accounts. His advertised fee for this year remains at $40,000, live ponies, racks and nurses.
