When ballet shoes––especially, net variety––first released as a new cult shoe in 2022, I was determined to never wear them. Now, fast forward to 2024 and I own three pairs. Heels have always been something I hated, and I’ve since realized that’s largely because the rounded toe reminds me of school shoes worn with tights. But now, the preferred way to wear them is often in good student or Parisian away from miniskirts, dresses, and wide-legged pants––so the school vibe is appropriate. But that doesn’t stop me from having a strange, irrational hatred of toes, although, the thing is, I’m a pointy-toed or even square-toed kind of girl. Basically anything but round. Which is why I’m glad pointy-toed shoes are the style of the day for fall.

Be it apartment (yes, ballet flats don’t have to have a round toe), high heels, open toe shoes or a pair of high or ankle bootsevery shoe that’s definitely on my new season wish list has a pointed toe.
