The 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS electric sedan receives several updates for its third model year. The refreshed EV model will be available in US dealerships later this year and pricing will be revealed closer to that time.
The new 118.0 kwh battery pack for all models is a 9% increase over the 108.4 kwh capacity used in current models. Mercedes promised increased range but did not release any updated EPA estimates. The EQS now achieves a maximum range of 352 miles in single-engine rear-wheel-drive EQS 450+ form, so that figure alone puts 400 miles within reach if other performance gains tack on further improvements a few percent.

The faux grille and hood ornament give the EQS a more traditional look, closer to gasoline-powered Mercedes like the S-Class. The EQS from the start delivered the luxury experience of the S-Class while also creating its own design direction — and hatchback body style — so it’s strange to see it trying to replicate the look of the S-Class.
Inside, the Executive Interior Package increases comfort for rear passengers with features such as rapid seat heating, neck and shoulder heating and pneumatic rear seat depth adjustment. Mercedes has made the Super Large Display standard on the EQS for 2024.
This EQS refresh was announced by Mercedes CEO Ola Källenius as part of the February update. has delayed some of the company’s EV goalswith internal combustion models remaining in its lineup “until the 2030s.”

Mercedes accelerated the development of the EQS in 2017 and it arrived a few years earlier compared to the original plan. Mercedes has since launched EQS SUV and sedan and SUV versions of the EQE—all based on the same EVA 2 architecture. According to the automaker, these other models will receive the update. similar updates in the near future.
The automaker’s next MMA platform will underpin a variety of small and mid-size electric vehicles that will begin appearing later this year. Previewed with last year’s CLA-Class Concept, MMA emphasizes efficiency and includes some notable improvements on the EVA 2 platform—such as the 800-volt electrical architecture.
