Honda has revealed a few more details about its upcoming Civic hybrid lineup ahead of its launch in June as a sedan and later this summer as a hatchback.
The company appears to have positioned the hybrid version of the Civic as both the most efficient in the lineup and one of the sportiest and most powerful models in the mainstream Civic range – even including the Si model. traditional sport.
As such, it will have a 2.0-liter inline-4-cylinder engine—larger than that of previous Civic hybrid models, or a Insight hybrid car it effectively substitutes. Honda notes that the hybrid will deliver 232 lb-ft of torque and is the most powerful non-Type R Civic ever. Horsepower ratings haven’t been released, but for comparison’s sake, the Type R has been rated at 315 horsepower and 310 lb-ft. Honda has also programmed the two-motor hybrid system to operate the engine in a way that simulates shifting gears.

Honda has yet to reveal pricing for the 2025 Civic Hybrid, but based on how the CR-V and Accord hybrid models are priced, the price could be several thousand dollars higher. The 2025 Civic Hybrid will be available in LX (sedan only), Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid versions, with the Sport version adding a sunroof, heated front seats and dual-zone climate control.
The Sport Touring also gets leather upholstery, a 12-speaker Bose sound system and a larger 9.0-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. That flagship Civic hybrid is also Google’s first integration for the Civic line.
