Tesla brought referral privileges to those who helped bring in new buyers for the brand.
“As an owner, every time you bring a new friend or family member into the Tesla community, both you and your friend earn credits — you earn Referral Credits and your friend earns Credits. buyer’s use,” the brand’s website says as of February 23, 2023.
“You also earn Loyalty Credit for the purchase of additional eligible Tesla products, as a thank you for being a loyal Tesla owner.”

The number of credits you earn from a referral
You can redeem these credits for free supercharger access, along with merchandise like t-shirts, caps, and beanies. Wall chargers, roof racks and a wide range of other genuine accessories are offered to frequent referrals.
Fans noticed a change in the “Loot Box” section of their Tesla app overnight. Referrers who don’t own a car, buyers using a referral code, and owners who refer their friends are all eligible for the privilege.
Anyone who buys a Tesla product, not just a car, can earn a credit. The range of credits you earn is based on your purchase history with Tesla, among other factors. One credit is equivalent to 500 million free Supercharge.

The cost of some privileges provided
The previous referral program, running from October 2018 to September 2021, offered perks ranging from free credits to a new Tesla Roadster to influential owners.

The return of referrals comes as electric vehicle sales accelerate rapidly in Australia and as the landscape changes dramatically overseas.

Locally, the sample 3 And Model Y is one of the best-selling electric vehicles in a growing market.
Formerly best-selling regular favorites like Toyota Camry became the second best seller overall in Australia in January 2023 and the latter sold in similar numbers to luxury staples such as BMW X3 And Audi Q5.
However, Tesla has slashed prices sharply as competition heats up in the electric vehicle space.
The Model 3 dropped in price to AU$3400 earlier this year, before increasing its price by $400 later. However, in the United States, the Model 3 has dropped in price by up to 20% in early 2023.
