On Saturday, Tesla Cybertruck Chief engineer Wes Morrill confirmed the optional range-extending battery pack will not installed by user.

This means that the owner will need to Schedule a service appointment with Tesla to install or remove the optional battery pack. It is unclear what will happen to the battery pack if removed.

No specifications or pricing have been announced for the range-extending battery option, nor has Tesla said when it will become a reality.
