The Google case – introduced by Richard Lloyd, the previous director of client rights group Which? – alleged that between 2011 and 2012 Google cookies collected knowledge on well being, race, ethnicity, sexuality and finance by means of Apple’s Safari net browser, even when customers had chosen a “don’t observe” privateness setting.
